Corporate
Statement

In Japan, we have the word “tsuyuharai,” which literally means “sweeping away dew.”
It refers to going ahead of a procession to clear away obstacles.
To lead the way.
By extension, it means to be the first to do something.

Anticipating and removing the challenges that stand in our customers’ path to the future.
Solving the underlying problems in the world so that future generation will not stumble.

Providing “Coating, Slitting, and Polishing” solutions for 100 years,
our work is to polish the path ahead for our customers and society.
And it is through this spirit of mutual refinement with our partners
that we also polish our own technologies.

For the next 100 years,
we will continue to polish, strongly and gently,
so that the future shines dazzlingly bright.

History of Innovation

1925–1966: Founding Period

Manufacturing and sales of pigments and foils

Established with German capital as an importer of pigments and coloring foils. After establishing a dedicated factory in 1928 and beginning the manufacture of metallic powder, we produced coloring foils, sheet foils, and rolled foils, which established the foundation of the “Coating” technology that we use to this day. Overcoming the turmoil of the postwar period, we built an integrated factory in Akishima in 1961, establishing a mass production system for colored rolled foils by introducing a fully automatic coating machine.Establishing “Coating” technology

1967–1980: Transition to a Polishing Products Manufacturer

Establishing our position as a polishing products manufacturer

In 1967, we took on the challenge of developing a polishing film. In 1970, it was launched on the market as “Finishing Tape,” and we embarked on our journey as a manufacturer of polishing products. In 1980, our clean room factory began operations, enabling us to provide high-quality products.

1981–1989: Entry into the Precision Polishing Field

Growth as an integrated manufacturer of polishing products

Development of precision polishing technology and business expansion
In 1981, we changed our company name to Japan Micro Coating Co. Ltd., further advancing our path as a manufacturer of precision polishing products and establishing a foothold in overseas markets. We built what was then a state-of-the-art clean room in Yamanashi. We transferred the foil manufacturing division, which was the cornerstone of our foundation, to another company and completely shifted our course to become a dedicated manufacturer of polishing products.

1990–2003: Globalization and Technological Innovation

Globalization and expansion into the ultra-precision polishing field

In 1989, we established a subsidiary in the United States, accelerating our global expansion. Through the development and sales of polishing equipment for LCD panels and semiconductors, we entered the field of ultra-precision polishing. In 2001, we were listed on a stock market, strengthening our corporate structure to aim for further growth.

2004–2019: Diversification and Digital Transformation

Expansion of business fields and promotion of IT

Amid a sharp business downturn after 2005, we focused on contract manufacturing and new product development, achieving a V-shaped recovery from 2008. At the same time, we promoted digitalization and pursued work styles that always matched the changing times, such as introducing CRM tools. In 2013, we changed our company name to Mipox Corporation and began venturing into new business areas centered on our core technologies of “Coating, Slitting, and Polishing.”

2020–Present: Business Restructuring and New Field Development

Venturing into new business domains

Since 2015, we have been promoting business expansion centered on our core technologies of “Coating, Slitting, and Polishing.” We have continued to restructure our organization and venture into new business domains through initiatives such as acquiring and merging with companies in the reflective and general polishing material sectors, relocating our headquarters, incorporating new businesses, and establishing a new factory in Japan. We are newly strengthening our initiatives for next-generation semiconductors and the environment, aiming to create a sustainable society.

“Sharpen Innovation”

This message expresses the fusion of our technological strength and creativity. We have not only provided products and services but have always strived to create new value in partnership with our customers.

100 years ago, who could have imagined it? That our technology would find its way into cars, into computers, and even into space.

We cherish our corporate culture that does not shy away from challenges and actively pursues new ideas. We are convinced that this very attitude is the driving force behind our sustainable growth.

What will we polish in the next 100 years?

Our work is not limited to making products and simply polishing physical surfaces. It is to bring a new brilliance to our customers’ businesses and to the potential of society. That is our true mission. At the same time, it is through these partnerships that we constantly polish our own technology and creativity. This interaction is the very essence of innovation.

Through this branding, we want more people to discover the true Mipox. And we hope to increase the number of partners with whom we can create new value together.

We will continue polishing, both strongly and gently, so that the future shines even brighter. Polishing technology, polishing talent, and polishing society. As a company that will “Sharpen Innovation,” we will continue to contribute to the development of society.
